“How can my council prepare for events better? How can we efficiently make posters and decorations in time for everything to be ready at least the week before the event will happen? How can we make sure everyone will finish in time?”

Reply: Something that helps my council prepare for events better is starting early and making a clear plan. We usually create a timeline for each event that includes what needs to be done each week, so we’re not rushing at the end. Assigning specific roles, like who’s in charge of decorations, posters, or setup, also keeps things organized. For posters and decorations, we try to hold a few “work days” after school where everyone helps out. It’s a fun way to get things done faster and make sure everything matches the event theme. We also try to finish all decorations and posters at least a week before the event, so we have time to fix anything or add final touches. Having quick check-ins before or after class helps too, because it keeps everyone on track and makes sure no one falls behind. My teacher also puts in a 0 for your grade if you don’t do your decorations or posters on time to keep us accountable. Overall, staying organized, communicating clearly, and starting early has really helped our council be ready on time for every event, like regionals.

“What are some ways you create whole schools bonding?”

“Our council is roughly 70 people! While we are blessed to have those numbers, it makes planned bonding events quite difficult especially for the times we have limited funds. In general, how do those with big councils organize and execute bonding events?”
