“Battle Week is a school-wide tradition that combines spirit, service, and competition under one big theme—like Nickelodeon vs. Cartoon Network. Throughout the week, the campus is transformed with decorations that match the theme, while classes earn points by taking part in dress-up days and contributing to a school-wide service project. The week builds up to a closing assembly where each team has one last chance to compete, with students from all across the school stepping up to represent their class. At the end of the assembly, the team (or even the staff) with the fewest points faces a fun consequence in front of everyone, like being slimed. This mix of creativity, community, and competition makes Battle Week a highlight of the year.”

Reply: “Since we are such a small school we do a k-12 pep rally where we team up older kids with the younger kids and do an activity to bond the younger and older kids.”

“Each day during our spirit weeks, we host fun lunch activities on the stage. We make sure to include at least one food day and one craft day each week. Our students especially love when there’s a sweet treat involved, and some past favorites have been chocolate-covered strawberries, lemonade, and an ice cream bar. Craft days are always a big hit too, and we’ve made friendship bracelets for Twin Day, decorated sunglasses with beads, and created DIY bookmarks.”

“Shadow Ridge High School hosts an annual yellow out to honor a student that passed away a couple years ago. The event is called Click-It-For-Hill! This annual yellow out is more then just every student wearing yellow, it’s a campaign for students to focus on road safety (specifically wearing your seatbelt) relating to the student’s specific incident. This is a simple yet great way to bring awareness to situations that very well could be a reality.”

“For Homecoming 2025, we decorate the backgate of our school. This year since our theme was Vintage Vegas we decorated with cards, lights, and tablecloths to the gate to secure them.”

“Something that we do to involve students with disabilities is hold an event during Seminar/Homeroom in the gym where players from our Varsity football team will get together and train with the students for 2 weeks to participate in a football-themed competition. They participate in games that involve throwing balls through hoops or running to an end zone area with the football players acting as the student’s coaches. Everyone at school is invited to watch and they all love it! ”
